Worldwide Association for ME/CFS Awareness and Research

Mission Statement

The mission of the Worldwide Association for ME/CFS Awareness and Research (WAMCARE) is to improve the quality of life for patients with ME/CFS worldwide, through creating awareness of the disease, providing education and support, funding biomedical research, and creating and supporting campaigns to further our purpose.

Vision Statement

The Worldwide Association for ME/CFS Awareness and Research
(WAMCARE) will work until:

  • ME/CFS is recognized worldwide as a real, valid physiological illness with crippling effects
  • Every subtype and cause of ME/CFS is understood and explained.
  • Suitable diagnostic criteria and relatively rapid diagnostic tests are available and used for all cases of ME/CFS
  • Appropriate treatment and/or cure(s) are available for every type of ME/CFS.
  • No person with ME/CFS or who thinks they have ME/CFS (including parents of children with ME/CFS) has any reason to fear stigma, misdiagnosis and/or maltreatment
  • Proper diagnosis and treatment are available to everybody with ME/CFS no matter their location in the world, age or financial status.
